Here are three ways to always put your best foot forward using a well-crafted online persona:
Keep Personal Accounts Locked Down
We all need a refuge where we can go and be ourselves even in the virtual world. This may include a personal social media profile where we can interact with loved ones, share personal opinions freely, and just be ourselves. While using personal profiles is completely acceptable, having them open for the world to see can become a big problem. Keep these accounts private and locked down so only those you want to be able to see them can.

Remain Consistent with Your Own Brand
To eliminate any confusion surrounding who you are, it is important to remain consistent with how you present yourself. One smart and easy way to accomplish this is by using the same name on all profiles. Try and make it unique if you can (adding your middle initial) so that you aren\’t confused with others with the same first and last name. Also keep profile photos and contact information current across the board.

Take Control of Your Web Presence
In order to be proactive about what people read and see about you online, you must first know what they will find and where they will find it. If you don\’t already do so make Googling your own name a regular practice and from multiple types of devices. You can also set up Google Alerts for your name to receive notification when someone says something about you online.
